Connected Edge Ends for Object Recognition

چکیده
In this paper we exploit edges in images to build features for object category recognition. We build a line based image approximation to identify the dominant edge structures and use SIFT descriptors to capture the object shape. Combinations of co-occurring features improve the recognition performance but suffer from complexity due to combinatorial problems. To represent more complex structures we combine descriptors connected by lines fitted to dominant edges. In this way we incorporate weak topological constraints into the representation which improve its discriminative

Sufficient conditions for maximally edge-connected and super-edge-connected
Let $G$ be a connected graph with minimum degree $delta$ and edge-connectivity $lambda$. A graph ismaximally edge-connected if $lambda=delta$, and it is super-edge-connected if every minimum edge-cut istrivial; that is, if every minimum edge-cut consists of edges incident with a vertex of minimum degree. In this paper, we show that a connected graph or a connected triangle-free graph is maximall...
متن کاملOn the Speed and Accuracy of Object Recognition
This paper analyzes the improvements that can be gained in object recognition through the use of simple , imperfect grouping techniques. We consider, in particular, the pose clustering method of object recognition. Simple grouping techniques are described that determine pairs of points that are connected in the image edge map. We show that such grouping techniques can considerably improve both ...
متن کاملAutomatic segmentation of granular objects in images: Combining local density clustering and gradient-barrier watershed
Blob or granular object recognition is an image processing task with a rich application background, ranging from cell/nuclei segmentation in biology to nanoparticle recognition in physics. In this study, we establish a new and comprehensive framework for granular object recognition. Local density clustering and connected component analysis constitute the first stage. To separate overlapping obj...

Let D be a digraph with vertex set V(D) .For vertex v V(D), the degree of v, denoted by d(v), is defined as the minimum value if its out-degree and its in-degree . Now let D be a digraph with minimum degree and edge-connectivity If is real number, then the zeroth-order general Randic index is defined by . A digraph is maximally edge-connected if . In this paper we present sufficient condi...
متن کاملOn the edge-connectivity of C_4-free graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ and minimum degree $delta(G)$.The edge-connectivity $lambda(G)$ of $G$ is the minimum numberof edges whose removal renders $G$ disconnected. It is well-known that$lambda(G) leq delta(G)$,and if $lambda(G)=delta(G)$, then$G$ is said to be maximally edge-connected. A classical resultby Chartrand gives the sufficient condition $delta(G) geq frac{n-1}{2}$fo...
